Our Therapeutic Approaches

Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based and integrative approaches, selected based on your goals, preferences, and what feels most helpful for you.

Trauma-Informed Care

Provides a safe, supportive, and collaborative space that recognizes how past and present experiences may shape emotions, relationships, and patterns of coping. Therapy is paced according to your comfort and focuses on building safety, understanding, and emotional regulation.

Often supportive for:
trauma-related distress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, shame, and difficulties in relationships or self-regulation.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Helps you understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and develop practical strategies to shift unhelpful patterns that contribute to distress.

Often helpful for:
anxiety, depression, self-criticism, overwhelm, and patterns of negative or rigid thinking.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Supports clarifying your values and taking meaningful action, even in the presence of difficult thoughts or emotions.

Often helpful for:

anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, trauma-related distress, shame, body image concerns, burnout, and unhelpful coping patterns that feel difficult to change, especially when these are compounded by difficulties with focus, motivation, or executive functioning.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Focuses on understanding emotions as meaningful signals and strengthening emotional awareness, regulation, and connection within relationships and with yourself.

Often helpful for:
relationship challenges, attachment concerns, emotional disconnection, anxiety in relationships, and patterns of conflict or withdrawal.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Supports cultivating present-moment awareness with curiosity and non-judgment, helping you relate differently to thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.

Often helpful for:
stress, anxiety, overwhelm, emotional reactivity, and difficulty slowing down or feeling grounded.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

Helps develop self-compassion and reduce patterns of self-criticism, shame, and harsh inner dialogue, supporting emotional balance and resilience.

Often helpful for:
shame, self-criticism, low self-worth, anxiety, trauma-related distress, and perfectionistic patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Focuses on your strengths, existing resources, and goals to help identify meaningful changes and practical steps forward.

Often helpful for:
life transitions, situational stress, goal-setting, motivation challenges, and times when you feel stuck but ready for change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS-Informed)

Helps you explore different “parts” of your internal experience with curiosity and compassion, supporting greater self-understanding and internal harmony.

Our therapists are IFS-informed and integrate parts-work principles into therapy, but are not formally IFS-certified.

Often helpful for:
inner conflict, self-criticism, trauma-related patterns, emotional overwhelm, and feeling “pulled in different directions” internally.

Narrative Therapy

Explores the stories you hold about yourself and your experiences, helping you understand how these narratives developed and supporting the re-authoring of stories that align with your values and identity.

Often helpful for:
identity exploration, self-esteem, trauma narratives, life transitions, and feeling stuck in unhelpful self-beliefs.
