Deanna Dear
Registered Social Worker
Meet Dee
Deanna provides warm, compassionate, and client-centred therapy to individuals navigating mental health concerns, addiction, trauma, and life transitions. She brings extensive experience from both psychotherapy and crisis settings, including her work as a volunteer crisis responder with Kids Help Phone, which has shaped her grounded, steady, and supportive presence in the therapy room.
Deanna’s approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. She integrates evidence-informed modalities such as motivational interviewing, solution-focused counselling, psychoeducation, and harm reduction to help clients build resilience, strengthen coping strategies, and move through challenges at a pace that feels safe and manageable. She believes therapy should feel practical, respectful, and empowering, while also creating space for honesty, reflection, and growth.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of her clinical work, Deanna enjoys running, spinning, weightlifting, hiking with her bull terrier, and reading. She is passionate about lifelong learning and continues to pursue professional growth, including plans to complete a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work.
“Ordinary magic is found in the everyday capacity of human beings to adapt and thrive,” Ann Masten
